LONDON (Reuters) – British actress Mollie Sugden, best-known for her role as Mrs Slocombe in the television comedy series "Are You Being Served?," has died at the age of 86.
Her agent Joan Reddin told newspapers Sugden died on Wednesday after a long illness. "She was a lovely, lovely person. She was a great professional," Reddin said.
With her hair highly coiffed and referring frequently to her "pussy," Sugden played the bossy Mrs Slocombe throughout the run of the BBC's innuendo-laden Are You Being Served? between 1972 and 1985.
Re-runs of the show in the United States in the 1990s gained her a new audience overseas.
"She was great fun, a very good actress, very versatile. She could play serious stuff and comedy," said Frank Thornton, who played opposite Sugden in the series as the stuffy floorwalker Captain Peacock.
"It was a very happy show to work on -- you can't play comedy with people you dislike," he told BBC television.
Mark Freeland, head of BBC comedy, said she was one of television's iconic funny women.
"Her daftly enormous purple rinse and never-to-be-forgotten catchphrase are the stuff of comedy legend," he said.
Sugden had also found success in the BBC TV comedy series "The Liver Birds" and played an occasional role as pub landlady Nellie Harvey in the long-running ITV soap opera "Coronation Street."

Filled out all the paperwork today for the apartment, and got the keys. I went back up to the apartment to try to look at a couple of things, and the door wouldn't open. I found the apartment manager and got him to open the door for me. Apparently the keys aren't right. So I gave the keys back to him, and I'll get some later on this week.
This is scary, but the place is awesome.

So, I got a call from the place I was looking at on Monday. I have excellent credit, and I can move in at the beginning of March. It's a 1 bedroom, 700 sq ft place that's pretty nice in Garden Grove.
Kinda scary to live on my own, but I think I can hang it. It's close to friends if I need human contact. ;)

In an attempt to keep my place I have currently, I'm tempted to post for openings on Craigslist...
But i'm also looking at people doing the same on CL...there are a couple that show potential

So, the roommates gave me the final word, they're moving out March 6th. Please keep your ears open for me for anyone looking to move to the OC. I really dont want to lose my place.
So...
It looks like I'm going to be looking for new roommates somewhere in the near future. My current roommates are looking to move closer to their work in south county. So if anyone is looking to move, or knows someone looking for a place, I have a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath in Cypress, near Knotts Berry Farm. The place is 1200 sq ft, and has an attached carport. The place is pretty much furnished, as most of the furniture is mine, and comes with a cable/internet bill of about $10 or so. The place does take pets, but they do have a pet deposit. If only one person wants to move in, the rent would be $812.50 a person, or if 2 people move in, it'll be $542 a person.
If anyone is interested or knows someone who is, please send me a message or e-mail me at csqueenie at ca dot rr dot com

Happy Birthday Kelly!
I'm thinking of getting my brother and Sister-in-Law Lakers tickets for Christmas.
I know my brother hasn't been since we were kids, and my Sis has never been to a professional
Lakers game, but she's now a big fan, since marrying my brother.
My question is...would it be better to get them tickets to a team they'd run all over? Or a team
that they'd be challenged with?
